Crestor® linked to Serious Side Effects including Kidney Failure and Cardiac ArrestCrestor® LawsuitsThe FDA has issued warnings regarding Crestor®. In January of 2010 the FDA advised that taking Crestor® may cause severe skeletal muscle effects, which can lead to kidney failure. Skeletal muscle effects, known as myopathy or rhabdomyolysis, occur when skeletal muscle cells die and release excess amounts of muscle protein into the blood stream. The excess muscle protein floods into the kidneys overworking and hindering the filtering process of the kidneys, and can lead to kidney failure. Skeletal muscle effects, caused by taking Crestor®, can also lead to cardiac arrest. Studies link Crestor® with cardiomyopathy. The FDA advises that patients taking Crestor® should “promptly report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness and discontinue Crestor® if signs or symptoms appear.” Persons suffering kidney failure, heart attacks or other injuries after taking Crestor® may have a legal action against the manufacturer of Crestor®, if the manufacturer of Crestor® failed to adequately warn patients of certain health risks associated with this drug. If you or a loved one took Crestor®, and have suffered kidney failure, cardiac arrest or other injury you may be entitled to compensation. About Crestor®Crestor® (Rosuvastatin) is a type of medication called a statin, which is prescribed to reduce cholesterol. Crestor® slows the body’s production of cholesterol by blocking a cholesterol-producing enzyme in the liver. By blocking this enzyme, Crestor® lowers the amount of cholesterol and other fatty substances in the blood, which can otherwise lead to the buildup of plaque in the arteries. Crestor® is manufactured by AstraZenica. Do I have a Crestor® Lawsuit? If you were prescribed Crestor® and experienced kidney failure, heart attack or other injuries you could be entitled to a claim. It is important to contact an attorney as soon as possible to evaluate whether or not you have a claim before your statute of limitations (the amount of time you have to file a lawsuit) expires.
