What is Accutane?

Accutane (also known as isotretinoin) is prescribed by dermatologists as a last resort for people with severe, disfiguring acne. It is manufactured by Roche Pharmaceuticals. Its known side effects include increased sensitivity to sunlight and birth defects. Women are warned not to get pregnant while taking Accutane.
